Mexico City, Mexico – A man injured himself this month while allegedly trying to steal a statue of St. Michael the Archangel from a church in Mexico, tripping and falling onto the statue’s sword.
According to the Catholic News Agency, the alleged perpetrator, Carlos Alonso, 32, was drunk when he broke into Christ the King Church in Monterrey, Mexico on Jan. 14.
After breaking a glass door, Alonso is accused of trying to steal a statue of St. Michael the Archangel. However, in the process, authorities said he fell onto the statue’s sword and seriously injured his neck, the report states. …
