USCCB, Catholic Charities USA Under Federal Investigation Regarding Immigration Assistance, by Mary Stroka

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and Catholic Charities USA are among the more than 200 non-governmental organizations that congressmen are investigating in a probe of organizations that served “inadmissible aliens” during the Biden administration, according to a June 11 news release.

House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Dr. Mark E. Green, R-Tenn., and Subcommittee on Oversight, Investigations, and Accountability Chairman Josh Brecheen, R-Okla., are reviewing whether the organizations used taxpayer dollars to “facilitate illegal activity, as the previous administration incentivized millions of inadmissible aliens to cross our borders –– many of whom were subsequently aided by NGOs after being released at the border under the Biden-Harris administration’s mass catch-and-release policies,” the release said.

Green and Brecheen have asked each organization to respond to questions regarding money they received from the government, any lawsuit they have been part of against the federal government, and any assistance they gave illegal immigrants or “unaccompanied alien children” since January 2021. …
