McAlear prayed over each person who came forward and spoke a few words with them. When it was my turn, Father held my face, looked into my eyes and saw.

He began to smile and lightly chuckled. He said, “You love Jesus and desire to follow Him. But sometimes you get scared and just want to cut and run.” He kept looking at me with that gentle smile. I said, “But where would I go?” referring to this exchange between Jesus and St. Peter: ….
