I keep telling myself that I’m past the point where I can be insulted by the wide open sanctimony and gaslighting of the other political side, and every time I think that I’m right those guys up the ante. Perhaps that’s going to be the case for a long while.

It’s certainly the case after the thoroughly reprehensible piece at the Atlantic by a Brown University economist named Emily Oster. It’s entitled “Let’s Declare a Pandemic Amnesty.”

Oster begins the piece making herself known as one of those atrocious COVID Karens, so much so that on the hikes she says her family spent the early weeks of the COVID pandemic taking, her cloth-mask-clad kids were shouting “SOCIAL DISTANCING!” at other kids who got too close.

Wonder where that rudeness came from.  ….
