Michael W. ChapmanIn a tweet sent out on April 3, the Catholic bishop for the Diocese of Providence, R.I., Rev. Thomas J. Tobin, said that no one has “the right” to take the life of an unborn child and that we need a “#metoo movement for unborn children.”

The #metoo movement grew out of the myriad sexual harrassment and abuse claims in Hollywood, and it is dedicated “to support survivors and end sexual violence.”

In his tweet, Bishop Tobin said, “We hear about ‘reproductive rights’ or ‘right to choose.’ There is no ‘right’ to end the life of an unborn child.”

“We need a #metoo movement for unborn children,” he said.

The bishop continued, “Abortion: Capital punishment for babies, and exploitation of vulnerable women. Wrong, just wrong!”

According to the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute, which was founded as the research arm of Planned Parenthood, there were 926,200 abortions in the United States in 2014, or an average of 2,636 abortions every day, 109 abortions every hour.

Guttmacher also reports that 19% of all pregnancies in 2014 ended in abortion.

Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the United States, receives more than $500 million in federal funding every year and it performs more than 300,000 abortions every year.

For instance, Planned Parenthood’s latest annual report shows that it performed 321,384 abortions in the fiscal year that ended on Sept. 30, 2016. That averages to 880 abortions every day or 36 abortions every hour.
