Washington, DC, is not only the capital city of the most powerful country in the world, but it is also, unbeknownst to many, the scene of the spiritual renewal of the North American continent.
Just a few steps past the city’s Brookland metro station, you’ll start to notice it: the neighbourhood in the northeast of Washington is somehow different. Engrossed in a lively conversation, two young women stroll past with “Catholic Soccer” written on their T-shirts. Then three young Dominicans pass by. A few minutes later a nun crosses your path.
In contrast to Downtown DC, where all the main action is, the area of Brookland has a small-town feel to it. But it still has a lot going for it: Brookland is not nicknamed “Little Rome” for nothing.
