By Anthony Esolen, Crisis Magazine - When Catholic hierarchs speak about economic issues, I beg them to keep in mind that very tax, every economic restriction, every plan to redistribute money, every establishment of a welfare entitlement, comes with consequences... Vice riddles the soul. You can no more raise a vice-ridden person out of poverty than you can fill with water a bucket punched full of holes. Vice does not necessarily result in poverty, but it does keep the poor where they are.

Amen.”... I still ask my guardian angel at night when I go to bed and, in the morning, when I get up, to watch over and protect me. By Josh Hammer, The American Spectator - Trump hasn’t said it explicitly, but the Trump administration’s goal — and thereby, definition of victory — in Operation Epic Fury seems clear enough: the neutralization of Iran as an active, ongoing threat to the US and our interests. If nothing else, at least, that is how victory in the current campaign should be defined... That does still raise at least one pressing question, though, especially in the context of exiled Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi’s call to the Iranian people to prepare for “the decisive stage of our final struggle”: Where does that most controversial of foreign policy goals, “regime change,” fit into the puzzle?
