Unborn Babies are Not Just Human Beings. They’re Persons, by Julia Smucker

By Julia Smucker, LifeNews - Methodist theologian Stanley Hauerwas once wrote, “My Uncle Charlie is not much of a person but he is still my Uncle Charlie.”... This striking sentence introduced his argument on the limits of “personhood” language in medical contexts. Yet it also captures the power of having known a human being as a person, a subjective but universal human experience that belies attempts to categorize certain humans as nonpersons... It’s subjective not in the sense of being a mere matter of personal opinion, but of being rooted in personal experience (the experience of the subject). In Hauerwas’ example, I’ve experienced Uncle Charlie as a person because I’ve known him as a human individual with a name, a relationship to me, and human traits specific to him, and no ethical or philosophical abstraction can undo this.

Since pregnancy centers like ours do not perform or refer for abortions, we are targets for a government that disagrees with our views,” First Choice Women’s Resource Centers Executive Director Aimee Huber said during a Thursday press conference. “If our attorney general can bully us, it can happen in other states that promote abortion.

Guttmacher Revises Abortion Numbers for Recent Years, Revealing More Lives Lost, by Carole Novielli

By Carole Novielli, Live Action News - Abortion numbers are increasing, nearing levels we have not seen in the U.S. since 2011 — and recently revised statistics from the Guttmacher Institute reveal they're increasing more than we were originally told... We now end the lives of nearly 3,000 preborn babies by abortion every day in America, but that death toll is likely far greater, given the large numbers of uncounted chemical abortions happening across the country, even in pro-life states. ...
