By Felix Miller, Catholic Vote - The Catholic Church in the U.S. has reportedly seen a surge in requests for exorcisms in the past few years, leading to an increased number of priests being trained as exorcists, according to recent reports... The Catholic Church teaches that demons are real and that they can possess human beings. According to paragraph 1673 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, there are two forms of exorcism: the simple form, which occurs at every baptism, and the solemn or “major” exorcism, which deals with serious cases of demonic possession.

Timothy Cardinal Radcliffe OP made a number of revelatory comments, not least about the fact that he apparently fell in love with a woman just shortly after he was ordained a priest and invited her to stay at his priory to meet the Dominican community there... This follows a court approval of a $230 million settlement in a five-year-long bankruptcy case. “With this letter,” he wrote, “I express on behalf of the clergy, religious, and laity of the Archdiocese of New Orleans, my predecessors, and myself, profound regret over the tragic and inexcusable harm you have suffered at the hands of your abusers.”
