Into Mordor, by Michael Smith

By Michael Smith, Patriot Post - Like Frodo in “The Lord of the Rings,” we may not always want to confront the challenges of our time, but the choice we face is what to do with those trials... I tend to look at accusations from the Left about us, Donald Trump, and America, and test my perceptions and logic against them to validate what I think, say, and write. Let’s consider the Left’s accusations of Trump wanting to be a dictator, not for the throwaway, joking quote leftists always screws themselves into a pretzel about, but why they have any basis for it. ...

Christian Leaders Ignore Muslim Genocide Of Nigerian Christians, by Auguste Meyrat

By Auguste Meyrat, The Federalist - As for Pope Leo and other leftist Christians who want to help Muslim immigrants and eliminate borders, they need to honestly reckon with the carnage, destruction, and exploitation that they’ve mindlessly helped to encourage. After arriving early for an event at one of his former parishes, I sat on a bench beneath an ancient oak tree, just a few feet from where my uncle’s body rests—high on the hill in the old Sacred Heart Cemetery in Bowie, Maryland. ...

A Conversation With God Through Beauty & Art, by Derek Rotty

By Derek Rotty, Catholic Exchange - God speaks to human beings through beauty. That is, Our Lord uses sensible realities to reach the human psyche, to touch our souls and captivate our hearts. Relying on the classical definition of beauty, made clearest in the thought of St. Thomas Aquinas, a thing is beautiful if it coheres and will not fall apart; if it is balanced and fits well together; if it shines forth a proverbial light that transcends itself. Beautiful things include sunsets, gardens, waterfalls, Gothic architecture, libraries, diligent scientific experiments, and the human person rightly understood, all of which can open a deeper conversation with the divine.
