Treating Church Teaching Like Silly Putty, by Jim Valois

By Jim Valois, Catholic Exchange - As a child, I enjoyed playing with Silly Putty. When newspaper ink was petroleum-based, I liked using it to pull print or images off the pages. Now, in our current times, is it a stretch to say that some of our leading luminaries consider the immutable Teaching of the Church changeable like Silly Putty? TOTALLY WOKE: Diocese of Lexington Launches Net-Zero Plan Inspired by Laudato Si’ (and the United Nations)

An ethic that Prevost summarised as follows: ‘Abortion, war, poverty, euthanasia and capital punishment share a common identity: they are all based on the denial of the right to life’. To these threats against human life, he added ‘other issues, such as the effects of artificial intelligence, human trafficking and the rights of migrants’... In his speech, Prevost criticised the imbalance in the Catholic pro-life movement in the United States, which focuses primarily on fighting abortion and euthanasia at the expense of other important issues such as the death penalty and anti-immigrant policies. ...

EWTN: In Gaza and Israel, Fragile Peace Brings Hope and Heartache

News by National Catholic Register (EWTN) - Christians in Gaza are relieved by the ceasefire that took effect on Oct. 13 between Israel and Hamas, but they understand that hostilities could break out again at any time, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, told Vatican Radio in an Oct. 15 interview... “We are in daily contact with them. They keep writing that they still cannot believe they were able to sleep through the night without hearing the sound of bombs,” the patriarch said during a visit to Rome ...
