Amnesty for Sweatshop Farms & Hotels Tempts a Prodigal America to Stay in Its Pigsty, by John Zmirak

By John Zmirak, The Stream - Our country’s in deep, deep trouble. It’s only patriotic to admit that starkly and squarely. If your family member has cancer, you do him no favors by insisting he’s perfectly fine, that “those doctors just want to suck you dry.” Self-styled conservatives who keep offering you ideological crack pipes stuffed with balled-up old Ronald Reagan speeches aren’t “standing for principle.” They’re trying to squeeze the last few dollars out of a dying, discredited grift.

IRS Ends 70-Year Gag Rule, Says Churches Can Now Endorse Political Candidates, by Daniel Payne

By Daniel Payne, Catholic News Agency - The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) this week backed off a decades-old rule first established during the Eisenhower administration, declaring for the first time since the 1950s that churches and other nonprofits can openly endorse political candidates without risking their tax-exempt status... The order resolves a lawsuit launched in August 2024 by a coalition of religious broadcasters, one that challenged the 1954 Johnson Amendment, which says that 501(c)(3) nonprofits may not “participate in or intervene in” political campaigns.

The Frightening Dream House of Zoran Mamdani, by Victor Davis Hanson

By Victor Davis Hanson, American Greatness - Zoran Mamdani built his dream on radical chic—but now that he's winning, he's scrambling to bury the blueprint... After his first-place win in the New York City mayoral primaries, Zoran Mamdani is furiously denying everything that he once glibly thought was cutting-edge and cool... So, like a good postmodern relativist, Mamdani now claims he didn’t really mean that violence was merely a “construct.”... I suppose Mamdani asked Jewish New Yorkers—the target of 44 percent of all hate crimes in the city—and discovered that their concussions and blood were all too real.
