By Louis Knuffke, CatholicVote - Syrian Catholic Archbishop Jacques Mourad, of the Diocese of Homs, Syria, has decried the immense suffering of refugees fleeing the ongoing violence in Aleppo and the impending destruction of Christianity in the region... the news outlet for the Pontifical Missions Society, Archbishop Mourad described the dire situation... “We are really tired,” he said. “We are really exhausted, and we are also finished, in every sense."... Now, as refugees from Aleppo pour into Homs, Archbishop Mourad and his diocese are overwhelmed. The Archbishop told Agenzia Fides that many of the refugees have endured grueling 25-hour journeys, arriving thirsty, hungry, cold, and destitute... “We cannot bear all the suffering of the people who arrive here exhausted,” he said.

By Craig Bannister, MRC TV - Audio clips of SCOTUS Justice Samuel Alito dissecting and disproving arguments against a Tennessee law banning transgender medical treatments on minors went viral after the SCOTUS justices heard oral arguments in U.S. v. Skrmetti (SB1)... At Wednesday’s hearing, Biden Administration Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar and ACLU lawyer Chase Strangio presented arguments on behalf of the plaintiffs... Their lawsuit asks (SCOTUS) to either strike down Tennessee’s law banning transgender medical procedures, such as hormones and puberty blockers, on minors or at least send it back down to a lower court for further scrutiny.

If that sounds flippant under the circumstances, then perhaps the reader will pardon a bit of facetiousness, for some outrages strike us as so shocking that we cannot muster the appropriate condemnatory words. Thus, we turn to humor and prayer. And that fact alone proves that God brings light even from extreme darkness.
