Of the 51 priests accused, 37 have died, and none of the remaining 14 is active in ministry in the diocese, said the AG's office and the Catholic Diocese of Grand Rapids... The report is the fifth in a seven-part series on allegations of abuse in each of the six Catholic dioceses in Michigan and the Archdiocese of Detroit. ...

Of those 54 closures, 36 were Planned Parenthood abortion facilities. However, Planned Parenthood also closed an additional 28 referral locations since OR’s last survey, which amounts to a record total of 64 Planned Parenthood closures in one year.

By Mary Rose, Catholic Vote - Jimmy Lai, the outspoken pro-democracy media tycoon whose rise and fall have drawn attention to Hong Kong’s shrinking political freedoms, was convicted Dec. 15 in a landmark national security trial that could see him spend the rest of his life in prison... Lai, 78, the founder of the now-defunct Apple Daily newspaper, was found guilty of conspiring to collude with foreign forces and conspiring to publish seditious articles. He pleaded not guilty to all charges. The verdict was delivered by three government-vetted judges in a non-jury trial, according to AP News.
