The Pope expressed “profound sadness” and led prayers for the three Catholics killed in the strike... “I pray for the victims, Saad Issa Kostandi Salameh, Foumia Issa Latif Ayyad, Najwa Ibrahim Latif Abu Daoud, and I am particularly close to their families and to all the parishioners” ...

By Randall Smith, The Catholic Thing - When I get exasperated by some of the failures in contemporary liturgical practice and annoyed by the perpetual arguments over it, I am tempted to exclaim: Okay, that’s it.  We need to return to the traditional Catholic liturgy! ... You know what I mean.  The Mass in Greek.  Every other liturgy is a later translation and not always a reliable one. There are good reasons why the Latin translation of the original Greek Scriptures was called “the Vulgate.”  It was the vulgar (that is, common) language of Italy.

So far, that trend hasn’t changed, but it no longer reflects the reality within seminaries, which are at the healthiest point they have been in for decades in terms of culture and quality of priestly formation, experts say.
