Catechism of the Catholic Church - The Church will enter the glory of the kingdom only through this final Passover, when she will follow her Lord in his death and Resurrection. The kingdom will be fulfilled, then, not by a historic triumph of the Church through a progressive ascendancy, but only by God’s victory over the final unleashing of evil, which will cause his bride to come down from heaven. God’s triumph over the revolt of evil will take the form of a the Last Judgment after the final cosmic upheaval of this passing world.

By Francis Magister, Crisis Magazine - About a month ago, in Crisis, Kevin Wells suggested that one cause for Bishop Strickland’s dismissal was the ire of other bishops at his raising the issue of homosexuality in the priesthood at the USCCB conference in 2018. Regardless of whether that was a cause for his dismissal, the issue—for some it is not a problem—of homosexuals in the priesthood is divisive... Assuming, as I do, that there is an influential number of homosexuals, or those sympathetic to homosexuality, in the priesthood, I want to ask not so much how this has come to be but, more importantly, why it continues to be so. In other words, why would a young homosexual man today choose the priesthood?

By Randall Smith, The Catholic Thing - During Advent, we are preparing for Christmas, but the readings are mostly about the Second Coming of Christ... Some scholars say there is ambiguity in the Scriptures about the Second Coming.  They claim that when St. Paul says that “we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord” in 1 Thessalonians 4:15, he believed he would not die before Christ’s return.  In 2 Corinthians 5, he suggests that he will not live till the Second Coming, but after His death, He will be with Christ in glory.  In either case, Paul says that “the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.”
