‘Tell the Truth’: Mother of Md. Woman Slain by Illegal Alien Urges Media to Share Her Story, by Elizabeth Troutman Mitchell

By Elizabeth Troutman Mitchell, The Daily Signal - The mother of Rachel Morin, the Maryland mom of five brutally raped and murdered by an illegal alien in August of 2023, on Wednesday joined a White House briefing to urge the media to share her daughter’s story... “Tell the truth,” Patty Morin said. “Tell like how violent it really is.”... Morin shared the gruesome details of her daughter’s death on a walking trail near her Maryland home. On Tuesday, Victor Martinez-Hernandez was convicted of first-degree murder, first-degree rape, third-degree sexual offense, and kidnapping in Morin’s case. The jury found Martinez-Hernandez guilty on all four counts.

Archdiocese of Detroit: Parishes Must Cease Traditional Latin Mass Celebrations by July 1, by Jonah McKeown

By Jonah McKeown, Catholic News Agency - Archbishop Edward Weisenburger of Detroit announced Wednesday that parish churches in the archdiocese that offer the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM) will be unable to do so after July 1, citing the Vatican’s 2023 clarification that diocesan bishops do not possess the authority to allow the TLM to be celebrated in an existing parish church... A prominent Detroit shrine will still be able to offer the TLM, however, and Weisenburger said he intends to identify at least four non-parish locations in the archdiocese where the TLM can be celebrated.
