We’ve written a great deal about the decision’s impact—primarily by Dr. Randall K. O’Bannon, Director of Education & Research—but not as much as we should about the independent abortion clinics... These are clinics that are not affiliated with the abortion behemoth Planned Parenthood. Yet they provide “approximately 58 percent of all abortions nationwide,” according to the latest report from the Abortion Care Network.

The incoming administration is now considering defunding Planned Parenthood, which has a history of purveying body parts used in this type of research. Later-term abortions received much attention in the recent election cycle. The previous Trump administration took an interest in this issue.

I’ve encountered them when I’ve been a speaker at pro-family and pro-life conventions. I’ve provided training for administrators and counselors of these centers. I’ve interviewed some of them for my podcast... The totality of this experience convinces me that the pregnancy-care-center movement is an authentic “women’s movement.” I think they have more right to describe themselves as a “women’s movement” than some of the self-described “feminists.”
