If that sounds flippant under the circumstances, then perhaps the reader will pardon a bit of facetiousness, for some outrages strike us as so shocking that we cannot muster the appropriate condemnatory words. Thus, we turn to humor and prayer. And that fact alone proves that God brings light even from extreme darkness.

Except that proponents were careful never to use the word “suicide,” despite the bill’s very clear amendment of the 1961 Suicide Act. In the debate that preceded the vote, advocates preferred euphemisms such as “the right to die” and “dignified death.” A government that couldn’t wait to lock down longer and harder just a few years ago suddenly extolled the sacred principles of “autonomy” and “choice.”

By McKenna Snow, LifeNews - Decrying the day of the vote as “a sad and shameful day,” U.S. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson recently slammed the United Kingdom Parliament’s move to advance the legalization of assisted suicide... “It’s an ancient truth that medicine should always heal and never harm,” Johnson said. He criticized the UK for following in the footsteps of Canada, which legalized euthanasia in 2016. Canada’s deadly program is called “Medical Aid in Dying,” or MAiD... The UK’s move, like Canada, “[twists] that definition of medicine,” Johnson said.

By Steven Ertelt, LifeNews - Speaker Mike Johnson confirmed in a new interview that he wants to defund the Planned Parenthood abortion business... Still, Johnson said he would like to defund the abortion giant and is working to build the votes to do it. Likely, the only way that can be accomplished is via a reconciliation bill — which both the House and Senate can pass on a majority vote margin.
