22 Democrat-Led States Sue Trump Administration for Planned Parenthood Defunding, by Nancy Flanders

By Nancy Flanders, LiveAction - The lawsuit is a desperate attempt to keep taxpayer money in Planned Parenthood’s pockets even as it has been shutting down its own centers, losing clients, decreasing its legitimate health care services, and switching its business to telehealth.... “For years, Americans have been forced to subsidize the killing of innocent children and the exploitation of vulnerable women,” said Live Action founder and president Lila Rose in a statement. “Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest abortion chain, ending over 400,000 lives annually while masking their business as healthcare. This defunding victory is a crucial step toward ending that injustice.”

Br. Joel Compacion Añasco, SC: The Divine Encounter in Suffering and Loss

By Br. Joel Compacion Añasco, SC, Catholic Exchange - Furthermore, death is always difficult. It brings sorrow, longing, and many times confusion. Even Jesus wept at the death of Lazarus (Jn. 11:35). Our faith does not deny the pain of loss. But it does offer us a greater truth—that our suffering is not wasted. In Christ, death becomes not an end but a doorway to eternal life. By Sen. John Barrasso, The Daily Signal - Democrats and the media are doing everything they can to slow the momentum of President Donald Trump by attacking the “One Big, Beautiful” law’s Medicaid provisions... While Democrats want to weaken Medicaid by giving taxpayer-funded benefits to illegal immigrants and allowing able-bodied adults who don’t work to game the system, Republicans actually strengthened Medicaid by passing the One Big, Beautiful Bill into law... Last week, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., came to the Senate floor to spread blatant lies about the Republican agenda.

Chicago Newspaper Criticizes Church Document on Sex Abuse Accusations, by Felix Miller

By Felix Miller, Catholic Vote - The Chicago Sun-Times has published an article arguing that a Vatican document released in February prohibiting dioceses from publicly listing the names of priests credibly accused of abuse but not yet been found guilty or innocent could lead to “a new era of secrecy over child sex abuse.”... The Aug. 1 article by Robert Herguth focuses on the status of such lists in dioceses in Illinois and nearby states... “As part of their stated commitment to transparency and healing over the decades-long clergy sex abuse crisis, all six Catholic dioceses in Illinois post public listings online that name clergy members deemed to have been credibly accused of molesting children,” the Sun-Times reported.
