Judie Brown, also a former academy member, and current president of the American Life League, called the appointments an “outrage” that were “made worse when we recognize that the Academy was established to fight against abortion.” The principles held by the Academy’s first members “were once the bedrock upon which we all stood,” she said, but have now “disappeared from view.”

By Anthony Esolen,  The Catholic Thing - “Tony,” said a high school friend to me, and he meant it, “you’ve got the brains and the good looks, but you don’t know how to dress.” That was in our Catholic school, and the boys all wore jackets and ties, and kept themselves clean-shaved, too, or else our good and wise Dean, Mr. Buzad, would call them into his office where they could perform that operation with an old razor and cold water.

Kevin Drew, Crisis Magazine - (Recently) I was home visiting my mother, and there was a bulletin on her table from St. Francis parish, brought over by my sister who attends early morning Mass.  Inside the bulletin in big black font was the phrase “Pray for Vocations.”  Directly above the phrase was the liturgical minister assignments for the weekend Masses.  In the “Altar Server” column, there was 1 boy and 11 girls.  In the “Communion Ministers” column, there were 5 men and 25 women.  The column for “Greeter” contained 1 man and 7 women... The parish was told to pray for priests while its sanctuary was flooded with women and girls.
