By Grace Porto, Catholic Vote - An analyst at the Free Press recently explained that Republicans picked the winning women’s rights issue in the 2024 election... keeping biological males out of female sports while the Democrats’ strategy of promoting unrestricted abortion failed... the Free Press (on) Nov. 7 (said) that the Democrats’ “big bet” on abortion rights did not pay off... “Not only was abortion a flop with the electorate, it was Republicans — not Democrats — who pushed the winning women’s-rights issue: fighting the encroachment of biological men into women’s spaces and sports,” she said.

By Lawton Brinkman, Catholic Exchange - Several years ago, one of my parish priests, a great mentor, gave me Peter Kreeft’s Prayer for Beginners after lunch. At first, it was a rather shocking gift. In many regards, it seemed insulting prima facie. However, there was great wisdom in his gift. In all my years as a Catholic, I had never been properly taught how to pray, rather viewing it in simple binary. I was always told that prayer is “a conversation with God.” This definition is not wrong, but it can be taken the wrong way... Prayer is an act of love, and although love is a word, it need not be shown in words.

Their decreased support concerned conservative Catholics worried about what they perceived as a deep, real and unprecedented threat to pro-life gains and religious freedom... judging from exit polls, those Catholics would respond by voting eagerly and overwhelming for the Republican presidential ticket. They came out so decisively for the ticket of Donald Trump and JD Vance (a Catholic) that they offset any waning numbers from evangelicals... Put bluntly, those Catholics got Donald Trump elected.
