California Was Never The ‘Homeland’ Of Mexican Invaders, by Hayden Daniel

By Hayden Daniel, The Federalist - In the midst of the riots that have raged across Los Angeles in response to the Trump administration’s raid to apprehend criminals, Mexican flags have emerged as a prominent emblem of the rioters’ lawless defiance... While the NY Times gushed that the rioters’ usage of the flag represented “pride in their heritage,” most Americans saw it for what it was: a symbol of conquest. But many leftists are now making that very argument, that it represents a reclamation by Mexico of land supposedly “stolen” by the United States.

An Homage to Fatherhood: Reclaiming the Role of Spiritual Leader in the Domestic Church, by Mark Haas

By Mark Haas, Catholic Exchange - On this Sunday, dedicated to honoring fathers, the Church has a powerful opportunity—not only to offer thanks for the men who give life, guidance, and protection to their families—but to renew our understanding of the irreplaceable role fathers play in passing on the Catholic Faith. The Catholic Church has long understood the family as a “domestic church,” a term rooted in the early Church and echoed at the Second Vatican Council (Lumen Gentium, 11). Bishop Calls Out Apple TV, Says It Offends. God Will Not Be Mocked.

By Bishop Joseph Strickland, Substack - Something unspeakably vile took place other day – a scene aired on a streaming platform (Apple TV+) in the show “Friends and Neighbors” portrayed actors breaking into a Catholic church, stealing the consecrated Hosts from the tabernacle, mocking the Eucharist as “the Body of Christ,” dipping the consecrated Host in jam like a snack, simulating Communion, and then committing a sexual act in the pews.

Bishop James D. Conley: Is It Time to “Smash Your TV?”

By Bishop James D. Conley, The Catholic Thing - Today, we are faced with a similar problem, but on a wildly greater scale. Artificial Intelligence and related technologies will now be able to use our reliance on screen-delivered mediating technologies and throw us into something close to total confusion about what is real and what isn’t... Deep-fake videos are now often indistinguishable from real ones. Soon, you won’t know whether you are in a Zoom meeting with a real person or with an AI-created chatbot who looks just like a real person. Voices can now be faked to the point where even family members cannot tell the difference. “Proof of reality” is going to become a thing.
