By Clarion Herald - Born from humble beginnings 10 years ago on the bayou, the annual Fête-Dieu du Têche crossed over to the mighty Mississippi River this year for a historic two-day Eucharistic procession that began on Aug. 13 in Baton Rouge and traveled 130 miles to New Orleans on Aug. 14. After a blessing in front of Jackson Square, Archbishop Gregory Aymond led a procession into the St. Louis Cathedral for a closing Mass... Fr. Michael Champagne, founder of the Fête-Dieu du Têche and organizer of the Fête-Dieu du Mississippi, said, “We moved the Eucharistic boat procession for a one-time historic route to bless the river and the State of Louisiana.”
