By Fr. Thomas G. Weinandy, OFM, Cap., The Catholic Thing - Nothing of God’s good creation will be lost, neither man nor beast, neither valley nor mountain, for all will be transformed into a new heaven and a new earth – sharing in the new creation that is the risen and glorious Jesus himself. As the whole of creation now groans in agony, so the whole of creation now cries out in expectant hope – Come Lord Jesus!
By Peter, Complicit Clergy - “They want my head on a platter.”... In today’s homily, Fr. James Altman announced he has been asked to resign his position by his bishop, Bishop Joseph Callahan... As we all know, Fr. Altman has been subject to diabolical persecution for simply doing his job as a shepherd to his flock.
By Marcellino D'Ambrosio, Ph.D., Catholic Exchange - As a teen, I thought the clergy were supposed to do everything. We laity were just called to pray, pay, and obey. Oh yes, and keep the commandments, of course. The original 10 seemed overwhelming enough. Then I discovered the Sermon on the Mount and nearly passed out... Perhaps this is why many inactive Catholics are so resentful of their upbringing in the Church. For them, religion means frustration, failure, and guilt.
