The Last Writings,” was published in Italian on Jan. 20, just weeks after his death at age 95 on Dec. 31, 2022... In this last book, the pope addressed a number of important issues he had not touched on before. He also clarified and expanded his thoughts about various social and theological questions.

Two hundred young adults gathered with our bishop and several priests to celebrate the tenth anniversary of our weekly “P3” apostolate. “P3” stands for “Prayer, Penance, and Pub”: Every Wednesday evening for the past decade we have offered young adults an hour and a half of eucharistic exposition, during which they can pray and go to confession. A priest or guest speaker then gives a thirty-minute meditation, followed by social time at our own parish “pub.”

We read from the First Letter of John, which emphasizes the Incarnation of Jesus and demands that we experience the Word becoming Flesh in a practical way in our own lives... Fundamentally, the Incarnation, the Second Person of the Trinity becoming flesh, means that our faith is about things that are real and tangible. As human beings, we have bodies. We have a soul that is spiritual, but it is joined with a body that is physical and material.
