The Catholic Herald - Cdl. Sean O’Malley (Boston) issued has asked the heads of all offices in the Roman Curia to take down the artwork of a famed priest and artist, Jesuit Slovene Father Marko Rupnik, accused of abusing dozens of adult women... The statement came from the Pontifical Commission for Protecting Minors (PCPM), for which O’Malley serves as President, and said in that capacity, the cardinal has written to the heads of all Vatican departments asking that “pastoral prudence would prevent displaying artwork in a way that could imply either exoneration or a subtle defence” of alleged abusers “or indicate indifference to the pain and suffering of so many victims of abuse.”

There will of course be some difficulties for those staff members who have made their livings by drafting statements on a variety of public-policy issues ranging from nuclear disarmament to chicken farming."... At best this USCCB office has exercised a slight— mostly symbolic— influence on federal government policies. At worst the policies that the bishops have supported may have aggravated social problems.

Sexual scandals can only grow in swampish landscape of a loss of transcendence (how can you molest children and seminarians and cover it up and still believe in a transcendent God?).
