I believe in the Catholic doctrines, and my faith plays an important role in my life. That said, I place no trust in the facilitators of my faith, who have been at odds with my career as a Border Patrol Agent and what I believe is the most important issue facing our republic: illegal immigration. The number one NGO in partnership with the United States government for “refugee resettlement” is the Catholic Church. “Refugee resettlement” encompasses every aspect of illegal immigration from lobbying our government for open borders, relocating these illegal aliens across the US and the cost of resettling these individuals in our communities. Refugee resettlement is inclusive of every illegal alien no matter what their immigration situation.

This fall Schmitz will mark his 21st year working in campus ministry, which he called “the best of both worlds” in a recent sit-down interview with CNA in Vail, Colorado, during his Parables Tour. The tour is part of Schmitz’s Seeds of Faith Campaign, which is raising funds for a new Newman Center to be built on the UMD campus.
