Msgr. Charles Pope - The Gospel from Thursday’s Mass (Thursday of the 20th Week of the Year) contains one of the most shocking parables Jesus ever told. It is the Parable of the Wedding Feast from the Gospel of Matthew, and it tells the story of a king who gives a wedding banquet for his son. Most know it well, but in case you want to review it, the full text is available here: Parable of the Wedding Feast.
By Fr. Nnamdi Moneme, OMV, Catholic Exchange - The Gospel account of the Canaanite woman in Mt 15:21-28 gives us hope that we can actually impress Jesus and do something to merit His praise and commendation... Jesus is not impressed with the fact that she is a Gentile woman who is courageous enough to come into Jewish territory to ask Him, a Jew, to deliver her daughter from a demon. He is also not impressed with what she says to Him, calling Him “Lord,” and even giving Him the messianic title, “Son of David.”
By Catholic News Agency - On marriage, Biden supported the Defense of Marriage Act in the 1990s, but in 2012 said he was “absolutely comfortable” with same-sex marriage; his comments as vice president in an election year prodded President Obama to announce his support for same-sex marriage days later. As VP, Biden himself officiated at a same-sex wedding ceremony for two White House staffers in 2016... Regarding abortion, the 2020 DNC platform builds upon the 2016 platform that one former Obama campaign staffer characterized was “extreme.”
By John Zmirak, The Stream - To pretend that Antifa and Black Lives Matter aren’t (the Democratic Party's) street-fighting wings, as the IRA is Sinn Fein’s... Of course, you’d have to ignore the fact that Democrat senators won’t denounce Antifa crimes, and Democrat mayors won’t prosecute them. And that Black Lives Matter funnels donations to the DNC. But those facts are so ugly we’re motivated to ignore them. To pretend that the Democrats are still a mainstream, patriotic party. It helps us sleep at night. This is America. We’re immune.
