By Mark Miravalle, Catholic Exchange - In 1348, the Black Plague or “Great Pestilence” led to the deaths of between 30 to 60 percent of medieval Europe, killing one out of every two or three people on the continent… In 1918, the Great Influenza or “Spanish Flu” killed approximately 50 million people, over twice the total number of soldiers who died during World War I. Its mortality to infection ratio was approximately 3 percent, with 3 out of every 100 infected people dying from the virus… Coronavirus (COVID-19) is presently manifesting a 3.4 percent mortality rate, with some 90,000 infected and over 3,000 reported deaths to date.

By Edward Pentin, EWTN News - Cardinal Raymond Burke is “very grateful” that Pope Francis’ post-synodal apostolic exhortation Querida Amazonia (The Beloved Amazon) did not explicitly call into question clerical celibacy or directly address the issue of women deacons, but he nevertheless finds the document “troubling” and does not expect these issues to now be left alone… “We’re weaker than ever in our witness,” he says. “What’s at stake right now is a fundamental misunderstanding about the Church herself and about the papacy, about the College of Bishops and Tradition.” Cardinals and bishops express their concerns directly to the Holy Father in private, he stresses, but he calls on the laity to also do their part, beginning with studying and knowing the faith.

Calloway told CNA that he thinks people today are confused about meaning… People often approach the priest “so confused about the times we're living in when it comes to marriage and family, and you've got all this gender ideology stuff today. People are just really confused about what it means to be a man, what it means to be a woman.”
