By Doug Mainwaring, LifeSiteNews - Washington Cardinal Donald Wuerl’s proposal to impanel a committee of bishops to investigate mounting allegations and evidence of systemic problems concerning the handling of sexual misconduct within the ranks of the U.S. bishops is being rejected––by esteemed laity as well as a fellow bishop.

Catholic News Agency - In his encyclical, Pope John XXIII called St. Vianney a model of priestly holiness… “[The priest] is no longer supposed to live for himself…He must be aflame with charity toward everyone. Not even his thoughts, his will, his feelings belong to him, for they are rather those of Jesus Christ who is his life,” he wrote, quoting a sermon from Pope Pius XII… “St. John Mary Vianney is a person who attracts and practically pushes all of us to these heights of the priestly life,” John XXIII further added… The pope highlighted the three evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity, and obedience, which he said Vianney exemplified.

By JP Nunez, Catholic Stand - In Revelation chapter 12, John sees a mysterious vision of “a woman clothed with the sun”… This woman gives birth to the Messiah.. so Catholics believe her to be Mary, the mother of Jesus. Consequently, we often see this passage as strong biblical evidence for some of our beliefs about her. Specifically, this woman is a queen… and the mother of Jesus’ followers, so this vision is often used to support our belief that Mary is both queen and mother of the Church.

The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth will unveil the ‘mystery of iniquity’ in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth.”
