How Contraception Destroys Love

Sri, CERC - Approaching one's spouse with a genuine openness to the possibility of parenthood represents one of the most profound expressions of love and total acceptance of the other person in marriage. When a husband and wife are truly open to life in their marital relations, it is as if they are looking each other in the eye and saying, "I love you so much that I am even willing to embark on the adventure of parenthood with you! . . . I entrust myself to you so much that I am willing to become a partner with you in serving any new life that may come from this act."

Charles Pope - There are a lot of “solos” sung by our Protestant brethren: sola fide (saved by faith alone), sola Scriptura (Scripture alone is the rule of faith), and sola gratia (grace alone). Generally, one ought to be leery of claims that things work “alone.” Typically, many things work together in harmony; things are interrelated. Very seldom is anyone or anything really “alone.”

Our of Africa! Millions Travel to Basilica Shrine for Uganda Martyrs’ Day

By Mary Rezac, CNA/EWTN News - They came by plane, by bus, and even on foot: pilgrims traveled thousands of miles to Uganda's Catholic shrine for the feast of the Uganda Martyrs, celebrated each year June 3... Police estimated that this year’s crowd, which gathered at the Basilica of the Uganda Martyrs in Namugongo, totaled as many as 4 million. While most hail from Uganda, many came from other countries, including Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Japan, and the United States.

There Is a Vocations Boom in Wichita

One of those things is a commitment to perpetual-adoration chapels in diocesan parishes... “We have a high number of perpetual-adoration chapels throughout our diocese, so we have a lot of young men spending time before the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament,” he said. “That moment of silence is so critical to hear the Lord speaking to them, so that availability is there.”
