By Edward Pentin, National Register - August 21, 2019: The Supreme Court of Victoria upheld the conviction of Cardinal George Pell. A three-judge appellate panel upheld his 2018 conviction for sexual abuse of minors in a divided decision delivered Aug. 21 by a majority (2-1). Pell will continue to serve his sentence of 6 years in prison and may be eligible for parole after he has served 3 years and 8 months of his sentence.
