By Msgr. Charles Pope - One of the signs of orthodoxy is the ability to hold competing truths in tension, realizing that they are there to balance each other. For example, on the one hand God is sovereign and omnipotent, but on the other we are free to say no to Him. Both of these are taught in Scripture. Our freedom mysteriously interacts with God’s sovereignty and omnipotence, but how?... Heresy will not abide any tension and so it selects one truth while discarding others meant to balance or complete it. For example, is God punitive, or forgiving; is he insistent or patient?
By Claire Chretien, LifeSiteNews - President Donald Trump lambasted Virginia Democrats for supporting abortion up until, during, and even after birth, calling Delegate Kathy Tran’s comments on her bill permitting abortion even as a woman goes into labor “terrible.”... Virginia Governor Ralph Northam suggested in comments this morning that Tran’s bill would also allow doctors to refuse to resuscitate an infant born alive after a failed abortion “if that’s what the mother and the family desire.”
By Rachel del Guidice, Daily Signal - Virginia became the latest state to unabashedly attack the sanctity of human life when lawmakers this week considered a bill to legalize abortion right up to birth… The debate produced a chilling exchange between the Republican leader… and Delegate Kathy Tran, the Democrat who sponsored the abortion bill… “So where it’s obvious that a woman is about to give birth, she has physical signs that she’s about [to] give birth, would that still be a point at which she could still request an abortion if she was so certified?” state House Majority Leader Todd Gilbert asked Tran. “She’s dilating.”… “My bill would allow that, yes,” Tran answered.
