By di Sandro Magister, L'Espresso - What is most striking in the post-synodal apostolic exhortation “Querida Amazonia,” made public today, February 12 2020, is its total silence on the most anticipated and controversial issue: the ordination of married men… Not even the word “celibacy” appears in it. Pope Francis desires “to configure ministry in such a way that it is at the service of a more frequent celebration of the Eucharist, even in the remotest and most isolated communities” (no. 86). But he reiterates (no. 88) that only the ordained priest can celebrate the Eucharist, absolve from sins and administer the anointing of the sick… And it says nothing about the extension of ordination to “viri probati.”

Grant Jr.’s opening prayer for the state legislature condemned abortion and warned about God’s “wrath” if abortion activists do not repent… The local news did not provide direct quotes from Grant’s prayer, but he apparently was cut short after Democrats began to walk out… Grant defended his prayer against pro-abortion Democrats’ accusations afterward… “I think that the statehouse belongs to all the citizens. And all the citizens have a voice,” Grant said. “If it’s my turn to have a voice, and I am a pastor, what do you expect from me? If you don’t want to hear what a pastor has to say, then don’t invite one.”

The cardinal also predicted the end of the underground Church… “The situation is very bad. And the source is not the pope. The pope doesn’t know much about China,”… “The Holy Father Francis shows special affection to me,” Zen said, but added that he is in confrontation with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican’s Secretary of State… “I’m fighting Parolin. Because the bad things come from him,” Zen added… But, the cardinal told CNA, “you cannot compromise” with the Chinese Communist Party, whom he called “persecutors” of the faith… “They want complete surrender. That’s communism.”
