By John Clark, EWTN News - On Nov. 12, while the assembled bishops of the USCCB debated the language of an accompanying letter to a Catholic voting guide, Bishop McElroy of San Diego took the microphone and proclaimed, “It is not Catholic teaching that abortion is the preeminent issue that we face in the world of Catholic social teaching.”… I may have missed his point due to the awkward phrasing. It should be clarified, however, that there are numerous distinct and definitive ways to illustrate that abortion is in fact the preeminent issue of Catholic social teaching.
By Walter E. Williams, Patriot Post - There are other stark figures not talked about often. According to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting for 2018, of the homicide victims for whom race was known, 53.3% were black, 43.8% were white and 2.8% were of other races. In cases where the race of the offender was known, 54.9% were black, 42.4% were white, and 2.7% were of other races… White and black liberals, who claim that blacks face a “mortal threat” from the “white supremacist in the White House” are perpetuating a cruel hoax. The primary victims of that hoax are black people. We face the difficult, and sometimes embarrassing, task of confronting reality.
By Joseph Pronechen, National Catholic Register - “Personally, it’s a real gift,” said Father Alexander Millar, rector of the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception, where the beatification will take place and which enshrines Fulton Sheen’s tomb. “We have the example of the saints and the reality of heaven … and we can see in Fulton Sheen not only God’s grace makes that possible, but makes it worth it. It’s a real gift having the body of a saint here.”… The announcement of the beatification date caught everyone by surprise, however.
By Paul Smeaton, LifeSiteNews - The Louisiana Department of Justice announced today that it has found evidence that a Baton Rouge abortion center repeatedly committed “criminal and professional misconduct” and then attempted to hide evidence of it from authorities… Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry tweeted, “We have a legal obligation to report potentially criminal activity to law enforcement & licensing authorities. Shockingly, Hope Medical is refusing to unseal this evidence & permit us to carry out our legal duties.”
