By Fred Lucas, Daily Signal - The Trump administration is investing up to $20 million for the next two years to determine effective alternatives to using tissue from aborted babies for research... The announcement Monday from the Department of Health and Human Services comes after the administration in September terminated a government contract with California-based Advanced Bioscience Resources Inc. to provide human fetal tissue research.
By Phil Lawler, Catholic Culture - Give John Allen credit for honesty, in his analysis (for Crux) of what we can expect from the February meeting at the Vatican to discuss the sex-abuse crisis. Not much: Almost by definition, Americans are likely to be frustrated with what may seem the scant results of the February meeting... It will be a short meeting, Allen observes, and the agenda is restricted. A large number of the participating bishops are still not convinced that this really is a crisis. Dramatic action is unlikely...
By Todd Aglialoro, Catholic Answers - Critics of this reading usually fail to note the rest of the passage, which commands a husband to love his wife as Christ loves the Church. This means giving himself up for her, “nourishing and cherishing her” (Eph. 5:25-29) just as Christ gave his life for the Church and continues to love it and build it up. This actually entails a more difficult and sacrificial duty than is prescribed for wives.
By Dr. Peter Kwasniewski, OnePeterFive - The difference with the clerical sodomites is that they become professional apostates. It is not enough for them not to believe in the sacraments; they must make others not believe in them as well. They will not stop twisting and mutilating the Church until she blesses their sin, along with many other sins. To achieve their goals, they must wreak havoc on every last aspect of the Church. This is what the faithful must stop – forget about the contemptible bureaucracy of the USCCB with its well heeled lawyers and slick marketeers.
