By Micaiah Bilger, LifeNews - A federal appeals court upheld a Louisiana law Wednesday that requires abortion facilities to meet basic health and safety standards… A panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit said there is “no evidence” that the law will burden women’s access to abortion, rejecting abortion activists’ claim… The 2014 law requires abortion providers to have hospital admitting privileges in case patients experience emergency complications. Soon after it became law, the Louisiana abortion facility Hope Medical Group for Women and the Center for Reproductive Rights challenged it in court.

Leaked Report: German Catholic Church Covered Up Alleged Child Sexual Abuse by 1,670 Clergymen

By Emily Ward, CNSNews - A report leaked by two German media outlets, Der Spiegel and Die Zeit, on Sept. 12 found that the German Catholic Church covered up at least 3,677 alleged cases of child sexual abuse by at least 1,670 clergymen from 1946 to 2014... Most of the victims were younger than 14 years old. Most were boys... In many cases, according to Der Spiegel reporter Walter Mayr, “the accused clergymen were moved to another location, without the new parish being given ‘the pertinent information’ about the abuser.”
