By Kevin Daley, LifeNews - The Supreme Court will delay its decision as to whether a Louisiana abortion law can take effect... The Louisiana measure — which was scheduled to take effect Monday — requires that physicians conducting abortions have admitting privileges at a local hospital... In a short order issued Friday night, Justice Samuel Alito said the Court would block implementation of Louisiana’s law until Feb. 7 because the justices need time to review court filings from each party. The last of those filings was submitted on Friday morning.
By Brad Miner, The Catholic Thing - And as the body begins to creak, the mind begins to leak, so I’ve begun both to do more vigorous physical exercise and to write things down. Virginia state Delegate Kathy Tran, a Democrat from Fairfax County, introduced a bill that, the lawmaker acknowledged Monday, would allow abortions to be performed as a woman is giving birth... Then Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam, a Democrat, followed this up with a defense of the bill Wednesday that actually managed to seem more extreme than the original proposal.

When it comes to abortion, there seems to be a new breeze blowing, bringing moments of clarity and even newfound transparency... It started with the new president of Planned Parenthood, Dr. Leana Wen, talking about how providing abortion access remains part of the organization’s core mission. She seemed unashamed to say the a-word, a word that for years pro-choice activists have largely suppressed, opting for euphemisms instead.
