For indeed, sometimes anger is directed at one who we deem unworthy, and this is called “indignation.” Sometimes wrathful anger manifests a pride where our anger is rooted in obstinate opinions and superiority. And anger surely gives birth to quarreling, derisiveness, and clamor. Anger directed at God often produces blasphemy.

In the fourth century, Anthony of the Desert and his fellow hermits retreated into the wilderness to live in caves. They practiced vegetarianism, extreme fasting and mortification of the flesh. In Syria, the desert monks were even more extreme.

The difference is notable. Our Founding Fathers created our country based off Judeo-Christian values and they never had a problem with people displaying religious images in public places… Even still, a Louisiana public high school plans to bring back a course next year called, "Bible as Literature" and some people are furious.
