Bishop Robert Morlino of Madison Dies at Age 71

By Christine Rousselle, CNA/EWTN News - Bishop Robert C. Morlino of Madison died the evening of Saturday, Nov. 24, at St. Mary Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, the diocese has announced. He was 71.... In the statement announcing his death, the Diocese of Madison outlined Morlino’s three priorities as bishop. These were to “increase the number and quality of men ordained to the diocesan priesthood,” to increase a sense of reverence throughout the diocese, and “to challenge Catholic institutions in the diocese to live out their professed faith in Jesus Christ” with their ministry in the secular realm.

Catholics in California Seek to Consecrate the State to Mary

By Denis Grasska, Catholic Herald - An effort is underway to consecrate California to the Immaculate Heart of Mary... And all California Catholics are invited to take part... Many will gather in prayer from noon to 2pm local time on December 8, the feast of the Immaculate Conception, at several parishes statewide. The schedule calls for Mass to be celebrated at noon, followed by a walk to a designated location where the rosary and special consecration prayers will be recited.
